The Alumni Association of the University of Moratuwa sorrowfully inform you the sudden demise of Prof. Ranjith Perera early on 17 February 2021. Cremation will take place at Borella Cemetery on Thursday 18th February 2021. Remains will lie at Respect Borella from 8:30AM on 18th.
Prof. Ranjith Perera is the loving father of Dr. H Niles Perera, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Transport and Logistics Management.
Students around the world are faced with unexpected and unprecedented effects of COVID-19 pandemic as education institutes are closed down in the fight against the critical health hazard. However, many institutes took initiatives to support their students to engage in learning activities. University of Moratuwa also has taken multiple actions to support its students to continue their learning. While the arrangements are for the benefit all students, there are unique challenges faced by some of the students in receiving the best out of the opportunities given. As the UoM Alumni, we assume it is our duty assist them during this difficult time.

We say a big thank you to the student leadership and students for been very mature in their judgement at a very emotional time for deciding that Back2Mora should happen despite a very sad incident.
